Farm Digital Twin

Farm monitoring through a BIM model integrated with real-time data

virtual reality viewers of the production environment

ZERO has initiated a pilot virtualization project for one of its farms. By integrating virtual reality, BIM models, and data from IoT sensors installed in the grow room, they have created a Digital Twin of the production environment. This enables real-time visualization of field information through Virtual Reality viewers and simplifies maintenance and control of the infrastructure.

web browser viewer - 3D environment

The second phase of the project, developed in collaboration with Tre.Digital, enabled ZERO to incorporate a web browser viewer into its monitoring system. This viewer allows users to navigate the BIM model enriched with real-time data localized within the 3D environment. This solution will further streamline the management and maintenance of all facilities, enabling access to the integrated 3D model with data from any internet-connected device.

The project was funded by the “Fondo per lo Sviluppo e la Coesione della Regione Autonoma del Friuli Venezia Giulia”, with the strategic and operational support of Area Science Park, as part of the regional digital innovation hub initiative IP4FVG.
